NextEra Energy Resources, LLC, is a clean energy leader and one of the largest competitive energy suppliers in North America. All told, NextEra Energy Resources’ wind farms are capable of generating enough electricity for more than 2 million average homes. NextEra Energy Resources now has more than 9,500 wind turbines in operation at 85 wind farms in 17 states and Canada. These wind turbines are capable of generating enough power to serve more than 137,000 average homes. The company currently has more than 300 wind turbines in operation in Oklahoma with a nameplate capacity of nearly 550 megawatts. NextEra Energy Resources is no stranger to Oklahoma. The Minco II Wind Energy Center will be comprised of 63 GE 1.6-megawatt wind turbines and is expected to be operational by the end of 2011. Google Energy also purchases 114 megawatts of clean, renewable energy from NextEra Energy Resources’ Story II Wind Energy Center located in Story and Hardin counties in Iowa. Google Energy will purchase 100.8 megawatts of clean, renewable energy from NextEra Energy Resources’ Minco II Wind Energy Center under development in Grady and Caddo counties in Oklahoma.
